The purpose of the LARP  is to promote the truthfulness and accuracy of advertising and enhance public confidence through voluntary means.  This industry self- regulation program is approved by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB). The LARP is implemented by the Upstate South Carolina BBB and the American Advertising Federation Greenville.  Information on the Code of Advertising Guidelines

BBB Auto Seminar Video "Walk About Town"

The Local Advertising Review Program hosted an Automotibile Advertising Seminar to aid local dealerships with correct advertising.  Those present were the BBB, FTC Regional Representative and an Investigator for the SC Consumer Affairs.  Consumers were interviewed in downtown Greenville, SC asking them "What do you think about automobile advertising?"

APPLAUSE AWARD GIVEN TO LOCAL BUSINESS

The Better Business Bureau Local Advertising Review Program will be presenting an Applause award to a local business in our ten county area "in recognition of the company's adherence to the BBB Code of Advertising guidelines".     The award will be given out quarterly.  The first recipient of this award for 2013 was given on March 6, 2013 to Find Great People International.

The previous recipients are the following:
September 7, 2011 to Bradshaw Automotive Group, Inc
December 11, 2011 to Toyota of Greenville
March 7, 2012 to Fuddruckers 
June 6, 2012  to BI-LO, LLC
September 12, 2012 to The Spinx Company, Inc.
