The IRS also offers small businesses tax workshops. Below is the schedule for the 2010 classes in the Upstate area.
The Internal Revenue Service, the South Carolina Department of Revenue and the South Carolina Employment Security Commission provides South Carolina's taxpayers top quality service by helping them understand and meet their tax responsibilities and by applying the tax law with integrity and fairness to all.
The workshops presented offer guidance on record keeping, types of business entities, Schedules C & SE and employment taxes. The employment tax segment provides an overview of Forms 940, 941, & 944, including e-file and EFTPS due dates. There is also a discussion on Employee Classification (Employee vs. Independent Contractor). Classes are taught by instructors who are qualified to practice before the IRS (Certified Public Accountants and Enrolled Agents) and by SC DOR and ESC Revenue Agents.
Pre-registration is required for all the workshops. Classes will last all day. To register, contact the location where you plan to attend the class.
